Moving Forward in Missions!!!
Welcome to my new blog home page!!!
I am so excited to announce that I am proceeding ahead as a missionary with Adventures in Missions! That’s why I have a new home page. I also want to start by saying THANK YOU to everyone who has been a part of my journey up to this point! Your prayers, your provisions and your positive encouragement has been greatly appreciated all along the way. I will begin this new role on July 1st. I will complete my onboarding and training in Ft. Myers, FL, where we will be continuing to work to rebuild Harlem Heights following the wreckage of Hurricane Ian last fall. I am currently working to create a team of partners who are interested in investing in the work we are doing at Adventures in Missions. Right now, I am at 50% of my desired fundraising goal for AIM with my prayer being to reach 100% by July 1st as I begin my time in Ft. Myers.
My new role has been perfectly designed to meet the needs of the organization and my passions in missions. I will have the opportunity to impact communities both near and far. My desire is to encourage, inspire and invite people from my local area, here in Maine, to participate in this life-changing work. Having grown up in Madison, I have a passion to impact this same community that helped build me into the person I am today. The support, encouragement and opportunities I had as a young person have shown me the importance and value of community involvement. In my own personal experience, stepping outside of my comfort zone to get to know and help strangers has allowed me to grow in appreciation of my own community, build self-esteem, and become more aware of the lives of others living around me. It has also directly impacted those I have helped complete projects they are unable to accomplish themselves, or by providing meals, clothes and other physical needs.
Additionally, my role will be to lead short-term mission trips for youth, families, and churches both nationally and internationally to places like New York City, Chicago, Albuquerque, Ft. Myers, Cuba, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Africa, Romania, and beyond. In these places we are working in orphanages, homeless shelters, drug rehabilitation facilities, and other forms of community programs to meet the physical needs of community members to improve quality of life for some of our nation’s and the world’s most impoverished populations. We are also working to help build homes, shelters, schools, and other facilities needing restoration, improvement or restructure following natural disasters and other forms of damage.
Thirdly, I will be working to share updates to inform partners, followers and the greater populous of what God and Adventures in Missions is doing throughout the world to alleviate poverty, bring hope, and transform lives. If you followed along on my World Race journey, I am sure you noticed that I love sharing what God is doing around the world through both visuals and writing. I cannot wait to continue to be a part of the storytelling team!!
If you haven’t had the chance to meet with me personally to hear about this new chapter of my story, or what becoming a partner could look like, I would love to set up an opportunity to do that with you! This would be a great way for me to also hear updates of what God is doing in your own life.
